From the many I have spoken to about homeschool lately, there is a commonality among them. What curriculum do I choose?
When I started homeschooling, that was mine too. Believe it or not, there are so many choices out there for homeschooling that you will be able to find your child’s niche. There are many different ways to approach teaching your children, too. Some use the Charlotte Mason method. Some use the eclectic method. Some go with a group such as Classical Conversations. Some go their own way. Guess what, all of these are fine. That is what is so great about homeschooling! We can choose how to teach our children. Each child learns differently, therefore there is no single method of teaching.
Your child may be advanced to where they can sail through almost anything. They need a challenge. Others may be slow to learn a certain subject, but you know what, that’s okay. You can teach them to their pace. Homeschooling has so many advantages.
Now, will every child like homeschooling? No. Is homeschooling hard? At times, it can be. However in the five years that I have been doing it, I have learned. I have learned what battles to pick and what battles to let go. You will too. But, the good far outweighs the bad. Happy Trails!
P.S. The socialization thing–don’t let that be your reason not to.
