Really?? Yeah, I know. So now I am going to Teaching Textbooks, 7th grade math. Why? Saxon made me mad. Everything was bouncing along just fine until we started getting further into the book. Then it started jumping all over the place. We would go from fractions to volume, to mixed numbers, back to two-digit division, then to reducing fractions. It was making me insane. My children need structure and suddenly Saxon Math lost all of its structure.
I showed the kids the new curriculum and they are really excited about it. It looks very similar in set-up to Saxon, but it stays with one subject area for each section. This helps them learn it much easier and hopefully it will stick with them. I am looking forward to working with it.
We finally have a good groove going with how our day progresses and that has made a huge difference. We get to it, get with it, and get it done!
Happy children make a happy Mom!
Until we meet again,
